Some days it just dawns on you. Whether it’s the beginning of a full collection of hours and days, or perhaps the wrapping up of the same. Whichever side of the bounty, we’re graced with a moment of decision. It’s the choice that must be made when you’re the only one who can sign the permission slip.
Do you rush through the line-up, or do you choose to create space enough to meet the opportunities with a quieted and grateful heart?
Do you carve out the same willful freedom at the other end of the day? The week?
When you’re the only one who can sign the permission slip …
If not, all tends to tangle together into one big burly mess, and that jumbled disarray threatens to rob each moment of its meaning.
Though this moment of decision can’t change the work to be done, it can surely lighten the load the work carries.
My hard-learned advice? Draw the bath water. Light the candle. Quiet the noise.
After all, you truly are the only one who can sign the permission slip.
I pray you find moments of rest and clarity to carve out of your weekend, friends!
If a hot bath is your thing, try adding some Epsom salts and a half-dozen drops of essential oils to the water. Some of my favorites are peppermint oil for a rejuvenating start to the day and lavender oil for a relaxing wrap at day’s end. And if you must have your phone nearby, set it to a nature sounds app for the perfect white noise. Enjoy!
